Take SOMCAN's Affordable Housing Survey!
|
REP-SF and member org South of Market Community Action Network (SOMCAN) are conducting a survey about the housing needs of people living in San Francisco. We will compile the data from this survey into a report that we will use to 1) advocate for the preservation and expansion of affordable housing in San Francisco, and 2) enable low-income people, immigrants, and people of color to live close to employment, transit, and essential services. Anyone who lives in San Francisco and is at least 18 years old can take the survey! It will only take 10 minutes of your time. The survey is available in five languages: ENGLISH, FILIPINO, CHINESE, SPANISH, & VIETNAMESE. Please reach out to Zachary Frial at zfrial@somcan.org if you have any questions.

New Video Series: Who Is San Francisco Building For?

REP-SF member People Power Media published a video series discussing the key findings and policy recommendations in its new housing report,“Who is San Francisco Building For?”
The report provides the most complete picture of who San Francisco developers are building housing for – and who developers are excluding. Our report reveals that the City is over-building housing that most San Franciscans cannot afford. The City's policies only support building for profit and not for need.

Aug. 16: Affordable Housing Guaranteed: Field Kickoff

Sunday, August 16, 11 am at Duboce Park: Join housing advocates to kick off the field campaign for the SF Affordable Housing Guarantee Act! This measure, which will be on the ballot for the November election, will guarantee funding for affordable housing in SF. Swing by to canvass our neighbors and small businesses with fellow advocates. August 21 & 22: The 4th Annual Queer Housing Summit is back! Our friend Queerly Complex is co-hosting the Summit, and REP-SF member People Power Media is supporting, with community organizer Priya Prabhakar attending. This year's theme is "Over the Borderline," with keynotes from the incredible Mercury Stardust and Dr. Amber Alton. Sept. 10: COHSF's Art Auction 26

Join REP-SF member, the Coalition on Homelessness for its annual Art Auction 2026 on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:30–10 pm at SOMArts Cultural Center. This year's theme is "United by Love: Transforming Art into Action." Organizing Win! 907 Valencia Tenant Union

REP-SF member, the Housing Rights Committee (HRCSF) is celebrating an important tenant organizing win! The 907 Valencia Tenant Union successfully pressured their landlord to be honest about the repairs needed in their building, resulting in a change from the 10-month relocation they were originally informed of to just 15 DAYS! Spotlight Chinatown: Summer Passport Challenge

REP-SF member Chinatown Community Development Center (CCDC) is hosting a Summer Passport Challenge as part of their Spotlight Chinatown economic development program. Participants can make a purchase at any participating business to get a stamp on their "passport." Once a participant collects two stamps, they can turn in the passport to any participating business to receive a $10 discount. There are three versions/categories of the passport: sweet treats, snacks/grocery, and dining. Individuals interested in participating can pick up a passport at the following stores!
